The crew of the Iranian Navy frigate IRIS Dena were 104 sailors killed on March 4, 2026, when their vessel was torpedoed and sank in the Indian Ocean south of Galle, Sri Lanka.

General Abdol Rahim Mousavi was the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army and a veteran of the Iran-Iraq War. He was killed in a US-Israeli airstrike in Tehran on March 2, 2026.
