As soon as he entered, Dr Salis led the male members of the family to the laboratory so that their blood samples could be collected and tested.

Sheikh Faisal had already collected a sufficient blood sample from Ayat. He requested almost six different tests because he wanted to identify the true cause of her condition.

After submitting the samples, he placed the adult patient inside another diagnostic scanner and began conducting further examinations.

He carefully studied every part of her body through the images and information displayed on the computer.

To his great surprise, the results showed no significant problem anywhere else in her body. The only abnormalities appeared around her lower abdomen and pelvic region.

The scan revealed an unusual accumulation of fluid and severe internal swelling.

Sheikh Faisal became alarmed. He had never encountered a condition exactly like this and did not yet understand how it should be treated.

He removed her from the scanner and cleaned the remaining blood from her body with cotton wool.

Wearing protective gloves, he carefully examined her lower abdomen. Even while sedated, Ayat reacted sharply when he touched the swollen area.

He immediately withdrew his hand and continued the examination cautiously. Her involuntary reactions suggested that the affected area was extremely sensitive and painful.

A further non-graphic clinical examination confirmed the unusual swelling and fluid previously identified by the scanner.

Although she was still under sedation, Ayat became restless. Her breathing grew heavier, and she repeatedly moved her legs and head.

Sheikh Faisal became completely confused as he observed what was happening. He silently reflected upon Allah’s power and the mysteries of the human body.

He stepped away, removed his gloves, washed his hands thoroughly, and opened the door.

Someone had arrived with the laboratory results he had requested.

He collected the documents and returned to the examination room.

When he noticed that Ayat had not yet become calm, he administered another prescribed sedative and sat down to study the results.

What he discovered shocked him.

He suddenly rose from his chair, unable to believe the information before him. He glorified the Lord of all creation, who made human beings with different bodies, temperaments, and characteristics.

Every test had produced a different set of figures, yet all the results pointed towards the same underlying condition.

He turned and looked at Ayat before comparing the reports with what he had witnessed during the examination.

He released a heavy sigh and was about to leave when he heard Dr Yaqub speaking outside.

“Sheikh, I swear none of her family members has compatible blood. Only one elderly man’s blood matched hers, but he is suffering from diabetes.”

Sheikh Faisal became silent and thought deeply for almost two minutes.

“Let us go,” he finally said.

They returned to the laboratory, where Sheikh Faisal’s blood was collected and tested.

By Allah’s grace, his blood was compatible with Ayat’s. His blood group could also be safely donated to many patients.

After the required amount had been collected, Sheikh Faisal returned to his office.

He sat down and held his head in exhaustion. He had become extremely tired, and it was already late at night.

He looked towards Dr Yaqub.

“Please call the young woman’s family.”

“All right, sir,” Dr Yaqub replied before leaving the office.
