Aarifa Book 1 Complete Hausa Novel

“Hey, your father in this town! You fool!” Aarif barked out in frustration.

He turned and opened his car door to get in, but just as he was about to step inside, her voice rang out sharp and defiant behind him: “You are the fool!” Before he could react, she sprinted into the house she was heading toward.

Ah, that’s Aairah for you!

Bursting into the house, Aairah threw herself onto her best friend Nabila, crying bitterly. Nabila gasped in shock, “Subhanallah! Aairah, what happened? Are you hurt? Or is Ummi sick?” She poured out questions all at once, panic in her voice.

Nabila looked at her closely. “Aairah, did you talk back to someone again?”

Aairah sat up abruptly, wiping her eyes. “I swear, bestie, I didn’t do anything to him! Ever since I laid eyes on him, I just felt pure hatred for him, wallahi!”

Nabila gently coaxed her to calm down. Pausing her tears, Aairah recounted the entire incident that had transpired outside. Knowing how pamper-spoiled and sensitive her friend was, Nabila offered comforting words until Aairah finally relaxed. Soon, they shifted their conversation back to Nabila’s upcoming wedding, scheduled just one month away.

Meanwhile, after driving off in a haze of irritation, Aarif went straight to his usual hangout—the Shisha Store. Upon arrival, he placed his order and began smoking, trying to drown out his rising frustration.

The persistent ringing of his phone eventually pulled him back from the deep ocean of thoughts he had fallen into. He ignored the screen until three missed call notifications flashed, after which he finally answered.

The cheerful voice of his close friend Nabil came through the speaker: “Haba, Doctor! Master of Western Medicine! Today even your bad mood reaches all the way to me?”

“Wallahi, Nabil, I’m really not in the mood,” Aarif replied flatly.

“Okay, where are you right now?” Nabil asked.

“You already know where I am,” Aarif mumbled.

“The Shisha Store, right? May Allah guide you,” Nabil chuckled.

From the other end, Aarif grumbled, “Alright, King of Preaching.”

“I hear you. Hold on, I’m coming over,” Nabil said before hanging up.

A few minutes later, Nabil arrived at the lounge and pulled up a chair across from his friend. “Haba, my friend! Why do you look so deeply disturbed?”

Aarif exhaled a cloud of smoke and shook his head. “Ah, my friend, don’t even start. Some rude girl disrespected me earlier today.” He recounted the entire encounter from start to finish. “I swear, her face just keeps haunting my mind, which is why I came here to get some relief!”

Nabil burst into laughter. “May Allah make her your wedded wife!”

Aarif glared at him. “What do you mean?”

“I mean she’s going to become your lawful wife according to the Sunnah!” Nabil teased.

“God forbid!” Aarif snapped. “That girl is the exact same age as my younger sister, Siyama! Haba, Nabil, wallahi you’re trying to ruin me!”

Nabil laughed even harder. “Why? Remember what the Prophet (SAW) taught us: love moderate, and hate moderate, because hatred can turn into love, and love can easily turn into hatred. Don’t come begging me and Nabila later to help you track her down!”

Aarif rolled his eyes. “Hmm, wallahi Nabil, you are so annoying! I am your future brother-in-law, yet you show me no respect at all, huh?”

“Oh, I forgot! Big Brother Aarif!” Nabil joked playfully. “InshaAllah, our wedding will be held together—yours with your lucky girl, and mine with Nabila!”

Aarif stood up, grabbing his keys. “Nabil, you’ve completely lost it. I’m leaving. When you talk to my sister, extend my greetings.”

“Will do, Big Brother!” Nabil called out as Aarif walked away.

Nabila was the daughter of Aarif’s paternal uncle. She and Nabil had first met during the wedding celebrations of Yaya Kamal—Aarif’s eldest brother. Sparks flew between them from their very first meeting, leading to a deep romantic relationship. Now, their wedding was just one month away.

Aairah was Nabila’s absolute best friend; the two shared an inseparable bond with zero secrets between them. Their closeness was rooted in family history, as Aairah’s father and Nabila’s father had been lifelong best friends since childhood.

The Origin Story

Alhaji Ahmad was Aairah’s father, and Hajiya Khadijah was his only wife. Together, they had only one child—Aairah. Because she was their only gift in this world, they showered her with immense love and affection, though they never compromised on giving her a proper, disciplined Islamic upbringing.

Aairah was a strikingly beautiful girl who bore an uncanny resemblance to her father, a Fulani man hailing from Katsina. Her mother, on the other hand, was a stunning dark-skinned beauty from Maiduguri.

At eighteen years old, Aairah had just completed her secondary school education in Kaduna. Bright and ambitious, she had recently secured admission into Kaduna State University (KASU) to study Microbiology.

By nature, Aairah was friendly, warm, and loved surrounding herself with people. However, she possessed a zero-tolerance policy for disrespect or insults—if anyone crossed her, she never hesitated to speak her mind. Yet beneath that spirited exterior lay an unexpected, cute touch of timidity.

Her father was not excessively wealthy, but he earned a comfortable living—more than sufficient t
